Booking Terms and Conditions Full

1. The Greener Camping Club

In order to comply with countryside planning policy, we operate as a Greener Camping Club members only campsite. The club was established by people with a passion for sustainable, eco-friendly camping holidays. Membership costs £12 for the calendar year and gives access to some of the greenest campsites in the UK. It also includes participation in the clubs Trees for Life scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every member enrolled.

2. Payment

Bookings are normally taken with a 30% non refundable deposit. Your booking will be held provisionally for up to seven days, after which, if we have not received your deposit, the dates will be released. The balance is required 30 days prior to your arrival date. Unless we agree for payment on arrival, If we do not receive your balance by this time, we may assume you have cancelled your holiday and release the dates – see below. For short lead-time bookings – ie. those booked less than 30 days before arrival, the full amount will be requested to secure the booking.

3. Cancellation by You

If you cancel your holiday 30 days or more before your arrival date we will not refund the deposit, but can refund all other balances paid. The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable. Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement in writing. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancellation, please take out holiday insurance. You can always request to change the dates of your booking, but we do ask for notice 30 days or more before your booking arrival date. As above, if you are unable to come due to a government coronavirus restriction then we will work with you to arrange an alternative date.

Coronavirus – added 1st January 2023

If, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic you are forced to cancel your holiday or we are forced to close, we make a heartfelt request that rather than a refund, we instead hold your deposit as a credit against a future stay, valid for up to 12 months from your original holiday dates. As a small business, we are wholly dependent on your custom for our survival. We realise these are difficult times for all, but your support will help us get through this and continue to make Becks Bay a wonderful place to stay.

4. Cancellation by Us

Becks Bay Camping reserves the right to cancel a camping or glamping holiday at short notice if we are unable to provide safe accommodation or camping environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you. Becks Bay Camping cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation. The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable.

5. Cars & Campervans

The speed limit while on the farm is 5 mph. If we have had periods of prolonged rain and on arrival or departure days the ground is considered (by me) to be too soft to drive on, please use the wheelbarrows to transport you gear. Help will be provided by us if required.

6. Recycling & Rubbish

A condition of camping here that you recycle your rubbish. That means separating glass, cans, plastic, paper, cardboard etc. and placing them in the special bins provided in the barn. What is left, ie. only items that are not recyclable, can be placed in the small landfill bin.

7. Campfires & Firewood

Please only use the designated campfire places and do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. Do not leave your campfire unattended and think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy. You must only burn wood fuel on site, and not any items with nails or screws in.

8. Consideration for Others

This is a peaceful, quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature. We do not allow radios, stereos or other sound systems and only quiet talking is permitted after 10.00pm. Acoustic instruments can be played before then, such as guitars, harmonicas, flutes etc. Noisy visitors who disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund (this has never needed to happen). If you are out for the night and arrive back late, please leave your car at the entrance (a torch will be useful to help you find your way to your tent).

9. Dogs

Dogs must be on a lead at all times and must not cause litter or nuisance to any other guests – this may result in us asking you to leave. We have maximum of 2 dogs policy per booking.

10. Smokers

All the glamping and all the undercover facilities are strictly NO SMOKING. If you smoke, do it outside and dispose of your cigarette ends in the campfire or ash bin.

11. Property Loss

Becks Bay Camping cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property. We have never had an incidence of theft and we very much hope we never do.
