Camping FAQ's

What facilities are on site?

We have 5 flushing toilets, and 5 Hot showers, we have washing up areas and a comprehensive Recycling facility. ALL tap water is mains water. (do not bring once used plastic water bottles).

Are campfires permitted?

Of Course! Our glamping units come with steel BBQ / Firepits, and each pitch in the camping meadow has a designated sand pit. Or you can use your own firepit which can be placed anywhere. Enjoy campfires but please mind them at all times – be responsible for children and pets alike. No music, singing after 10pm – this is quiet time please think of others (possibly those with young children)

Do you accept camper vans?

Yes, we love camper vans and you can also bring a trailer tent. We do not take caravans or motorhomes.

Can I bring a dog?

Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome, but please ensure dogs are kept on leads and that poos are collected and disposed of in our recycling area. MAX 2 dogs per pitch.

Do you offer electric hook up or season pitches?

No! We are not a caravan park, these fields are for sheep grazing in the winter and it is off grid. We do have solar electricity though – see below.

Is there electricity for charging devices and for Freezing Ice Blocks?

We have a solar bank which provides communal charging of devices (with your attendance), it will also blow up air mattresses, but cannot be used for hair drying or toasters or kettles – this would kill the batteries. There is a hairdryer available at the Farm (Bubbleton Farm Shop) – please ask if you require.

We have a gas-powered Ice Block Freezer (please do not fill with food).

Can I park besides my pitch?

You can, however we do encourage guests to move cars to our designated car park once settled to make the camp site a nicer place to be for kids and dogs etc.

Pizza oven?

There is a shared pizza oven (we sell pizza dough and toppings at Bubbleton Farm (our farm Shop). there are also washing up facilities in both fields.

Under the pizza oven there is a toolkit box with chopping board, rolling pin, cheese grater etc – please clean well after use.

Can you walk to the beach, pub, etc.?

Yes. We will send you a detailed map by email – by foot:

Lydstep Beach – 20 mins

Penally Beach – 40 mins

The Cross Inn (Penally) – 30 mins

Penally Train Station – 20 mins

Bubbleton Farm Shop – 5 mins

What time is check in?

Pitch your own After 12am, Glamping from 3pm. Checkout is 10am for Glamping. (Own Tents must be cleared from pitch by 11am)

Bell Tent and Yurt Accommodation

What comes with the bell tents?

Bell Tents are fully furnished, we DO NOT provide towels though – please bring your own. Each tent comes with it’s own picnic table, BBQ / Firepit, crockery and cooking equipment (kettle, frying pan, sauce pan etc), and a cool box (we have a freezer for ice blocks). There is a shared kitchen space with gas stoves inside and outside, if you like your own designated stove we can also arrange this. If you need anything specifically during your stay just let us know and we will help.

What time is check in?

From 3pm.

What time is check out?

By 10am please, as our cleaners have a busy schedule and it’s important that they are not under time pressure.

Can I pitch a tent near our Bell Tent?

If you would like multiple tents, do send us an enquiry to check we have the availability for the size of your party.

Can I park alongside my pitch?

The car park is a short distance from the bell tents, and we provide a wheel barrow for each bell tent, to make carrying your luggage easy.

Barafundle Bell Tent has its own driveway and you can park next to the pedestrian gate leading to the tent (within 10 yards).

Do I need to bring bedding?

No. We provide all bedding.

Do I need to bring towels?

Yes, please bring your own.

Do I need to bring a travel cot?

You can rent one for £15 per stay (no bedding) or bring your own.

Is there electricity or wifi?

Frankshore Shepherds Hut is located at the farm and has mains power, the other units (Sand Top, Fresh West, Church Doors, Swan Lake and Barafundle Yurt) all have solar lighted and also solar USB port.

Thanksfully no wifi at Becks Bay–   We do have free wifi at the Farm shop and Café.

Gas powered freezer and hot showers and gas hobs also.

 

Is there mobile phone signal at Becks Bay?

Yes, it is normally pretty good.

Sand Top Shepherds Hut

Where Is Sand Top Located

Sand Top Shepherds Hut is located near Fresh West Bell Tent, its a bit further to walk than the bell tent and is very secluded as it is tucked into the hillside. Please see the site map on the site info page.

Frankshore Shepherd's Hut

Location?

The Shepherds Hut is located next to Bubbleton Farm Shop – park by the shop and the shepherds hut has a path down a steep hill – the hut is hidden in a field in the valley below.

What comes with the Shepherds Hut?

It is en-suite and is fully furnished, with bedding and towels, it has a cooker, fridge, Belfast sink, log burner, toaster. And Main’s power, and tap water.

What time is check in?

From 3pm.

What time is check out?

By 10AM please, as our cleaners have a busy schedule and it’s important that they are not under time pressure.

Is there electricity or wifi?

The hut has mains electricity and water. There is wifi in the car park (By the Café) but it is not guaranteed in the hut – so please enjoy some digital downtime.
