Beaches
Boy, we are totally spoilt on this one, Becks Cragg has a low tide beach with a sublime cave / blow hole, it is accessible by rope but the safest way to access it by SUP or kayak from Lydstep beach. Here’s a list of local beach’s within 20 min drive – mostly much closer.
From Becks Bay to the East
Tenby South Beach
Penally beach is a 40 min walk and on high tide there a concrete pier ideal for swimming, BBQing, crabbing etc. The beach is over a mile long.
Castle Beach (Tenby)
It is connected to South beach at low tide but is small and contains St Catherine’s Island – which has an epic cave / arch so you can swim through the island.
Tenby North Beach – and Harbour

Caldey Island
On a beach day; there is nowhere more stunning, it’s harbour is on Priory beach but the adventurous hikers could head to Sand Top – in my opinion it tops all the other beaches. Grab a ‘Caldey Boat’ from Tenby Harbour any day (except Sunday).
Monkstone Beach
It’s a steep hike but the beach is dramatic.
Saundersfoot
The Bay is shallow this side of Tenby making the water less idyllic but warmer.
Coppet Hall
Easy parking making the beach a popular BBQ destination.
Amroth
This marks the end of the Pembrokeshire coast path.
From Becks Bay to the West
Lyndstep
It is a pretty sheltered beach, only accessible to hikers (you) and resident of Lydstep resort. It is nice and there’s a shop and kids park there too.
Lydstep caverns
It needs a deep low tide then you can access huge caverns sometimes with lagoon inside
Church Door Cove leading to Skrinkle
This double cove is a treasure, between the 2 beaches is a narrow steep cave – you can climb (on high tide you would need to swim to access) leading to the dramatic and sandy bay ‘Skrinkle’.
Precipe
it’s a fair hike between Skrinkle and Manorbier – very quiet.
Manorbier
Pronounced ‘Man O Beer’ – has a good car park, a castle and a popular surf beach – it has tonnes of rock pools when the tide retracts so it’s always fun for kids.
Swan Lake
30 min walk West from Manorbier it is a beautiful walk and this beach is well worth it (my favourite).
Freshwater East
A sheltered (East Facing), long sandy beach.
Stackpole Quay
A nice harbour for pier jumping, crabbing, paddle boarding etc
Barafundel
30 min walk from Stackpole Quay – it is postcard material.
Broadhaven
With it’s ‘Church Rock’, a river, huge dunes, adjacent Lilly Ponds trail, good waves – for a full beach day – this beach is 10 /10.
Fresh Water West
This beach is furthest away (25min drive) but it’s pretty scenic and windswept – it’s featured in Harry Potter and Robin Hood movies.
